Stephanie Axtell
“Walking through my Cornish surroundings, embracing nature and collecting found treasures provides creative momentum”
Experiencing and observing the beauty of her home county inspires and informs Stephanie’s painting. Objects encountered by chance, local flora, bird life, iconic landmarks and the omnipresent Atlantic Ocean are juxtaposed with charm and sensitivity. Together they radiate a subtle but very distinctive sense of intuitive belonging. Each work is characterised by tonal dexterity and an instinct for harmonious content that invites you into a world that is at once private and inclusive.
Stephanie studied illustration at Falmouth School of Art and Design. She then forged a career as an illustrator before becoming a full time artist.
